A SEAMAN INJURED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Monday. Theodore Davidson, a seaman on the lonic, fell down a companion \\-.\y ura. that vessel on Saturday night anil was taken to the hospital" sull'ering from concussion of the spine and kidneys.... ACCIDENTALLY SHOT. Hamilton, Monday. A ten-year-old sou of Moses Mc.SickJe was fatally accidentally shot on Saturday while playing with a loaded shotgun during his faraits' absence. It is surmised that the boy took down tlie gun from above the niantlepiece for the purpose of practising scout drill, and a .concussion discharged the weapon, shatteding the lower part of the boy's head. A verdict of acciucntally shot was returned at the inquest.
AX UNWANTED CHILD. Christchurdi, Monday. The body of a newly-born male child was found in the Heathcote river yesterday. At an inquest this morning the evidence showed that the child had been born alive and that death was due to failure to tic the umbilical cord. The child was dead when put into the water. No evidence of identity was forthcoming. TRAM CONDUCTOR'S DEATH. Christchurdi, Monday. Charles Cohen, a tram conductor, who fell from a car on Saturday, died this morning. SUDDEN DEATH. Rotorua, Last Night. George French, postmaster at Mokai, near Taupo, died suddenly from heart disease on Saturday morning. Deceased, who was married, was 58 years of age.
