THE WESTRALIAN MURDER.
CHASIXG A SUSPECT. By Cable —Press Association—Copyright Perth, May 20. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of David Smithson in connection with the Woodlupine murder. He was formerly a tram conductor, and has been missing from his lodgings since the night of the tragedy. Yesterday night a man resembling accused called at Bayswater railway station, four miles from Woodlupine, and asked for a ticket for Perth. When he was told that the train was not due for some hours he became excited, ran across the line, and jumped on a train proceeding in the opposite direction. His dishevelled appearance startled a lady passenger and she screamed. The guard stopped the train and the man sprang out and disappeared in the scrub. Trackers are following him.
