NEW HOSPITAL OPENED. By TeVgraph.—Press Association. Taihape, Friday. The Hon. G. Fowlds opened the new Taihape district hospital yesterday. There was a great gathering, in spite of the wet weather. The building cost £3BOO, which money was raised in the district, plus the Government subsidy. The Minister left by the south express this morning. HASTINGS COURT CASES. Hastings, Friday. Two sheep-owners were each fined £2 and costs 7s for having exposed "liceinfected sheep for sale. A Native, on the information of the Hawke's Bay Acclimatisation Society, was charged with selling a set of stag's antlers without obtaining the consent of the Minister of Internal Affairs, and fined 10s and 24s costs. The case was brought as a warning that trading in antlers was illicit. BURGLARY AT HAWERA. Hawera, Friday. The premises of E. Dixon and Co., music sellers, were burglariously entered on Thursday night, and the safe and till were robbed of the contents, totalling about £ll. A POULTRY CUP. Hastings, Friday. Mr. F. L. Bone lias given a cujp. valued at fifteen guineas, to the Hastings Poultry Society for the best Wyandotte, to be won three times in succession before becoming the absolute property of the winner. THE IRISH DELEGATES. Feilding, Friday. As a result of the visit of Messrs. Redmond and Donovan, the Irish delegates, last night, the sum of £BO was collected for the Home Rule fund. The Mayor presided over a moderate attendance at a meeting addressed by the delegates. A vote in favor of granting sell-government to Ireland was carried.
