The top lot of six made 20s 3d, being Wenslev Dale Border Leicester cross. Butchers took 168 at 10s fid to 18s Od, graziers G2 at 8s to 10s, and 772 were passed at Us 3d to 16s 9d. Fat cattle.—Steers made £S 10s to £ll 12s Gd, extra to £l4 ss, lieifers C 5 as to £S 2s Gd, and cons £5 to £8 7s Gd, equal to 25s to 29s for prime, 22s to 24s fid for medium, and 21s to 21s lid for cow and inferior beef per 1001b. Pigs.—Choppers sold up to (ids. and some extra large pigs from the Canterbury Agricultural College made up to £5 las, large baconers 45s to 50s, extra i to 71s and lighter 34s to 425, equal to 4d per lb; large porkers 27s to 30s, smaller 2l)s to 255, equal to 4d to 4Vitl per lb; large sorts sold up to 20s. medium 14s to ISs, smaller 8s to 13s, and weaners 4s Gd to 7s. BURXSIDE. Dunedin, May 17. At Rurnside to-day ISO fat cattle were penned, principally medium quality bullocks and heifers. Best bullocks £lO 10s to £ll 10s, extra £l3 10s. medium £8 Ids to £9 10s, inferior £7 to £7 las, best lieifers £7 10s to £B. extra £9 as, medium £6 to £G 10s, inferior £4 las to £5 10s. Abraham and Williams report: The demand for beef was limited. The entry consisted of bullocks of good quality, and prices ranged from £9 5s to £lO 15s. A good entry of sheep met with a dragging sale, only a few pens of exceptional quality being competed for. Good wethers made 18s Gd and 15s 7d, light wethers 15s, good ewes 14s lOd to 15s 7d, medium ewes, 13s ad to 13s Gd, light ewes 12s to 13s, half-bred ewes 14s to 15s, prime shorn lambs 12s 9d to 13s Id, others, others 8s 7d to 9s, medium woolly lambs lis Gd.
