GENERAL ARMISTICE POSSIBLE. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Mexico City, May 17. Judge Carbajal, representing the Federals, has announced that a general armistice is probable within twenty-four hours. General Madero, while discussing peace, was preparing for war, and said that an attack on Chihuahua would be the next step. Mexico City was the goal, and all the country between would fall inevitably into his hands, lie was hopeful about peace, and trusted that his adversaries would recognise the futility of opposition without more bloodshed.
