SEVERE HURRICANE

TEN VESSELS DRIVEN ASHORE. SEVERAL LIVES LOST. By cable—Press Association.—Copyright Received 18, 12.55 a.m. Sydney,' May 17. Advices from Norfolk Island report that a severe hurricane swept the New Hebrides Group. Ten vessels were driven ashore, and four totally lost. The schooner J. B. Charcot was lost Tanna (the captain), another white man and five natives were lost. One native was drowned at Ambrym.
