Sydney reports the death of Mr. Glass, a member of the Assembly. Cambridge University will confer honorary degrees on Lords Crewe and Minto, Sir Edward Grey, Messrs. Fisher and Botha, and Sir Edward Morris, Premier of Newfoundland.
The Hon. Georgi' l'owlds, Minister of Education, will be in Kaponga next month, and lay the foundation stone of the new Methodist Church, a building the erection of which will cost about £6OO.
A London press message mentions that Lady Ward was on the dais at the unveiling of the Victoria Memorial, and states that Mr. Fisher, the Commonwealth Premier, was easily observed, being the only person in civil attire.
A London cable states that the Inner Temple banquetted Sir Joseph Ward (Premier of New Zealand), Mr. A. Fisher (Premier of Australia), and Sir N. E. Lewis (Premier of Tasmania). There was a large gathering of judges and King's counsel. The death occurred at Greymouth yesterday of Mrs. Hanwcll Williams, in her 70th year. The late Mrs. Williams had been in failing health for some years, and had never recovered from the shock of her husband's sudden death, which occurred only ten days ago. The deceased lady, was highly respected throughout the She leaves three sons.—Press wire.
