Air. L. A. Xolan was amongst the passengers per s.s. Rarawa last night for Auckland. Mr. King O'Malley, Federal Minister for Internal Affairs, is suffering from a nervous breakdown. Mr. Charles Wilson, Parliamentary librarian, was last evening elected chairman of the Victoria College Council.— Press wire. A London cablegram states that Murdoch, the cricketer, who died at Melbourne while watching a cricket match, on February 18, will be buried' bn Thursday, in Kensal Green Cemetery. Among the passengers of the lodic, which arrived in Wellington yesterday, was Captain Athelstone Moore, of the Royal Dublin Fusiliers, one of the Imperial officers appointed to take up infantry instructional duties in New Zealand.—Press message. The many friends of Mr. W. P. Crawford, of the commercial staff of onir evening contemporary, will be pleased to learn that he has received an important appointment in the acecountancy department of the Sydney Morning Herald. He leaves for Sydney early next month. On Tuesday Mr. ,T. C. Lane tendered his resignation as secretary of the Manawatu A. and P. Association. Mr. Lane has for some time acted as secretary of the Cattle and Sheep-breeders' Association in addition to his position as secretary of the Manawatu Association. « i? e last mcetin S of the committw* of the Manawatu Association it was decided that Mr. Lane should hold no position outside of that association, and subsequently notice of motion was tabled that Mr. Lane's salary he increased. Mr. Lane has deoided to hob] the two positions objected to liv thrt committee. The resolution was accepted by the A. and P. Association committee after a lengthy discussion, held in committee.
