THE WEATHER.
SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The weather summary and forecast are as follows:—Barometric pressure continues high In the South, but has fallen slightly there to-day. A low pressure area developed off the East Cape, causing rain on the East Coast, and increasing force in the south-easterly winds which' have prevailed northward of Hokitika and Kaikoura. Fine weather has been experienced in the South Island. Present indications are for rain and stormy weather on the East Coast between' East Cape and Kaikoura, and urn settled weather in the North, but fair weather will probably continue elsewhere. The barometer will probably fall steadily everywhere, with strong south-easterly winds, northward of Farewell Spit and Kaikoura, and easterly winds, moderate to strong, elsewhere, changing to northerly after about 24 hours.
