(From Our Own Correspondents.) TARURUTANCr. A euchre party and dance was held in the hall here last Thursday evening, and was' a success. Dancing was kept up till early hours. The ladies' euchre prizes were won by Miss Hetty Thomson (first) and Mrs. V. Bishop (second), and the gents' prizes by Mr. H. Rogers (first) and Mr. P. Holmes (second). ;'■ ]>ancing classes are being held twice a week in the hall, and, judging by th,e keen interest the young folks are showing, the result must be very gratifying to their instructor (Mr. Charleß Arnold). WAIOXGONA. The euchre parties are now in full swing, the third of the season being held last Friday evening. The weather was fine and the attendance good, thb& teen tables being occupied. Card-playing was kept up until about ten o'clock, when supper was handed round. MisS L. Lumsdeu won the ladies' prize (two salad bowls), and Mr. C. Lumsden the gentlemen's prize (an alarm clock). After the schoolroom was cleared, dancing was indulged in, and a very pleasant time was spent. The number of dancers emphasised the necessity for more accommodation to meet the needs of the district.
