At a meeting of the British and Foreign Sailors' Society, Lord Stratheona presented Sir .Joseph Ward with a shield made of copper from the ''Victory" and the "Fourdroyant" for the Waitaki Boys' High School, in recognition of the boys' efforts to help the Society.
