SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night.

The weather summary and forecast arc as follows:—Showery conditions have prevailed southward of East Cape in the North Island, but fair weather, generally moderate to strong. South-east-erly winds have predominated, and the barometer has continued high, especially in the South Island. Present indications are for moderate south-easterly winds, veering to eagerly northward of Hokitika and Kaikoura, and northerly and westerly breezes elsewhere. Fair weather is probable generally. There is little movement of the barometer at present, but falling slowly everywhere after about sixteen hours.
