Brock, the sculptor of the Queen Victoria memorial, interviewed, stated that the monument is 82ft high and 104 ft in diameter. Three thousand tons of Carrara marble were used, which was without a single blemish. The figure of Queen Victoria was hewn out of a single block. The other single pieces weighed forty tons.
