After being deluged with complaints from telephone subscribers, the Post-master-General is adopting a novel method of hearing details. He is hiring the Town Hall and inviting all subscribers to attend, when he and the engineer will listen to grievances. POPULATION OF SYDNEY. Sydney, May 13. The census is almost complete. The population of Sydney is 034,350, an increase in ten years of 130,941. THE COAL VEND. Sydney, May 12 In the coal vend case Crown witnesses under cross-examination admitted that an actual reduction in the price of coal had taken place after the formation of the vend.
HARVESTER STRIKE ENDED. Melbourne, May 13. The Harvester strike was definitely settled yesterday. The hitch was the result of a misunderstanding.
