A football match between University and Alhambra yesterday yielded £ll2 net, which sum has been given by the Rugby Union as a donation to the fund in aid of the women's ward at the hospital. BICYCLE THEFTS. Timaru, Night. A young man named Norman Ramsay, who was arrested in Wellington, pleaded guilty to the theft of three bicycles from dealers at Timaru and Temuka, one at Amberley, and one at St, Albans. He was committed for trial. His practice was to hire the bicycles for an hour and then to sell them to secondhand dealers at prices ranging from 25s to 50s. HOME RULE ENVOYS. Timaru, Laßt Night. Meetings held in several centres in this district decided to ask the Irish envoys to visit the district and amiress meetings. Considerable sums were subscribed at the meetings.
