UNDERGRADUATES AT PLAY
SERENADING THE CHANCELLOR. By cable. —Press Association. —Copyright Received 15, 12.35 a.m. Sydney, May 14. Barred by the University Senate from holding the usual commemoration procession, the undergraduates, pressing a varied assortment of vehicles into hire, paraded the streets. Gathering in the ■vicinity of the Chancellor's house in Macquarie street, they noisily serenaded him with topical songs, mixed with weird musical sounds, and hoots and groans, a small squad of police eventually restoring harmony. During the day the Chancellor was inundated with a curious assortment of gifts from the students, ranging from a live sheep to a pianola, and wood and coal enough almost to stock a shop.
