The attendance was large, and the course in good order despite the recent rains. From a good start Bliss at once took up the role of pacemaker, and passing the stand the order was Bliss, Separator, Cheddar, with Lady Menschikoff last. Half way down the straight Lady Menschikoff set out to try and catch Fort William, bin he had plenty in reserve, and ran home ;>. comfortable winner by three lengths, the same distance separating second and third.
