INGLEWOOD NOTES
(From t)ur Own Correspondent). The annual Presbyterian social was held in the Druids' Hall on Thursday evening, the hall being packed. The new minister, Rev. J. Richards, occupied the chair. During the evening songs were contributed by Messrs L. Sutherland, Meston, Turner and Mrs. Richardson; recitations by Messrs Meston, Richards and Currie, and instrumental items by Mrs. Kay and the Misses Curtis. Mrs. Kay accompanied the vocal items. Gramaphone selections were also contributed by Mr. Richardson. Judging by the rounds of applause, all the items were much appreciated. During the evening supper was partaken of, after which the young people played games for an hour. Altogether, a most enjoyable time was spent. The Croquet Club held a dance in the Parish Hall on the same evening, when there was a good attendance, and a most enjoyable time was spent. The opportunity was taken by Dr. Gault (president of the Golf Club) to present Mr. Biernacki with a golf bag on behalf of the club. Mr. Biernacki is leaving for Auckland to take over the management of the Otahulm branch of a prominent Auckland firm of solicitors. During his stay in Tnglewood Mr. Biernacki has always identified himself with the various sports of the town, and his loss will be keenly felt in this direction. The recipient responded feelingly. The necessary improvements and alterations in the shop having been made, "Deare. the Shopman," will open up with a fine <toek of winter goods to-morrow (Saturday).
