The Labor Council decided to send a deputation to the Government requesting that a Royal Commission be set up to consider the cost of living. Speakers stated that the time had come for an enquiry into the reason why, as wages were increased by the Board?, there was a corresponding rise in the pricf of commodities. The workers were being bled by the employers, and the prices of food and a limitation of rents should be fixed.
