DISTRICT NEWS
MIDHIRST. (From Our Chvij Correspondent). The Midhirst dairy factory is now only running every other day on account of the diminished supply of milk. The past season has been a very good one, and with the price of land go.'ng up, the farming community is in for a prosperous time. To-day witnessed the burial of Mr. William Jordan, an old resident of Midhirst. He was born in Belfast, Ireland, and had reachpd the ripe age of 79 years. The Midhirst Primitive Methodist Sunday School is holding its anniversary services next Sunday. The Rev. R. J. Liddell, of New Plymouth, will preach in the afternoon. On the following Monday night there will lie a social, anil the prizes for the year will be distributed. The Denbigh road school held its annual concert last Friday evening. The' weather was fine, and a large crowd of people journeyed from Midhirst, and had a real good time. Mrs. C. Vosper left the other morning for a short stay at Taumaruntii.
