An American couple named Train, who were investigating the inter-relations between the Italian secret societies and the American "Muck Hand" organisation, were motoring through Viterbo (where the Oamorra trial is being held), when miscreants «et fire to some benzine which was dripping beneath the car. The occupants were rescued with difficulty. the car and a valuable jewel case being destroyed.
