The Anglican Synod passed a motion inviting the Imperial Government to repudiate the recent Roman Catholic decree regarding mixed marriages, ns the Bishop of Rome has no jurisdiction in England or the oversea dominions. It also passed a motion viewing the decree with disdain. Melbourne, May 11. The Congregational Union also protested against the decree as a defiance of the civil law.
