ENTERTAINMENTS.

BIOGRAPH PICTURES. Probably no previous programme has transcended in merit that to be presented at the Theatre Royal to-night by the Biograph Pictures. New Plymouth is certainly fortunate in the excellent management of its permanent picture show, and it is gratifying to notice that the actual merit of the entertainment provided is being recognised and appreciated hy increasingly large and always appreciative audiences. The specially imported new Dallemeyer lens, the very latest thing in picture projection apparatus, gives a remarkably clear and well-defined picture. One of the finest pictures ever screened here will be shown to-night. It is entitled "Henry the Eighth and Catherine Howard." This historical picture is beautifully mounted and portrayed, and no expense has been spared to make this production a "star" of modern kinematography. Other "star" dramas are "The Portrait," "A Modern Knight Errant," and "Sunshine Sue." The Vitagraph Company is represented by a ftae star comedy, "Mr. Four Flush." The scenics include "The Bay of Rio de Janeiro," "In WilOld Quarters of Tunis," and "Benares." The comics are numerous.
