CHAMPIONSHIP FIXTURES. The curtain rises to-day on the Tara naki Kugby Union's championship fixtures for the possession of "the cup." Strenuonsness may be added to the opening matches by the fact that a representative team is required for the match against Wanganui next month, and players will be anxioiis to catch' the selectors' eye. The senior match at New Plymouth will he played at Western Park between Eltham and Tukapa, commencing at 2 o'clock in order that the visiting team may be able to return home by the afternoon train. Clifton and Stratford seniors will try conclusions at Waitara, play commencing at 2 o'clock. '
