THE MEXICAN REVOLT
FAILURE OF THE PEACE NEGOTIATIONS. By cable.—Press Association.—Copyright Mexico City, May 7. Madero is preparing vigorously to take the offensive, and will probably direct his first efforts to the capture of Juarez. Madero attributes the failure of the negotiations to the inexplicable ambition of Diaz, who refused the request to publish the announcement of his intention to resign. Madero promised simultaneously to resign the oflice of provisional president. Government circles affect to believe that the prospects of peace are still good.
AMERICA WILL NOT INTERVENE. Washington, May 7. The prospect of the resumption of hostilities in Mexico will not affect the decision of the United States not to intervene in any circumstances. The President is unfaltering in this decision.
