Speaking in the House of Representatives, Mr. Focht predicted an early invasion of Mexico by the United States. America wanted an Empire, and would follow the lure of gold, and the call of adventure. FOREIGN RESIDENTS ARMING. Mexico City, May 5. Believing that Mexico may foe besieged, foreign residents are arming for selfprotection. They maw offer their services to the Government in the crisis. THE PRESIDENT'S RESIGNATION. A CONDITIONAL ARRANGEMENT. Received 7, 5.5 p.m. Mexico City, May 0. It is untrue that there is a likelihood of a revolt in the capital. President Diaz is understood to be willing to resign when order is restored. The rebels have decided to attack Jaurez on Saturday and Sunday if no reply is received from President Diaz as to whether he will resign.
ARMISTICE AT AN END. Received 8. 12.23 a.m. Mexico City, May 7. Madero confirms the report that the armistice with President Diaz's forces has ended. Nothing definite is known regarding Diaz's retirement.
