HOCKEY
CLUB FORMED AT WAITARA. (From Our Own Correspondent.) A meeting of those interested in the formation of a hockey club was held on Tuesday night, when several members from the Inglewood Club attended, and assisted by giving information. It was resolved to form a club, to be called the Waitara Hockey Club. The subscription was fixed at 5s for members over 18 and 2s 6d for those under that age. The following officers were elected: President, Air. W. Birdling; vice-presi-dents, Messrs. Buchanan, Beckbessinger, and Rennie; hon. secretary, Mr. Ralph; club captain, Mr. Moore. It was resolved to join the Taranaki Hockey Association, and the secretary was appointed to act as delegate. The following committee was appointed: Messrs. Bird, Dewar, Yorston, George, with the club captain and Secretary. The club's colors will be all white. It was decided to have a game at Waitara, on Thursday, either with teams from Inglewood and New Plymouth, or an Inglewood and Waitara team. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the Inglewood visitors.
A match will probably be played at New Plymouth on Saturday between the New Plymouth Club and the recently formed Tataraimaka Club. Another new club, has been formed in the Southern division, viz., at Otakeho. Application has been made for affiliation to the association. Hockey matters in South Taranaki are very bright this season. ' "'•''•■'■
The following have been selected to represent Inglewood in their hockey match with New Plymouth at Waitara to-morrow:—Stephens, C. Reed, G. Ward, J. Allen, R. Spurdle, W. Welham, M. Harris, A. Hopson, J. Harris, M. Priest, and J. Harris.
