Already a large increase is noticeable in postal matter since the inauguration of penny postage.

Mr. Thomas, Postmastcr-ttcneral, has received a large number of congratulatory messages, including one from Sir Joseph Ward, who says that Australian penny postage completes another link in the chain of Imperial unity, and adds: "May its general introduction throughout the world quickly follow."
