Next add veryj. of sieved flour aiid jUmp,,ounces of pineapple cut into shreds,,, ,Pour,, the. mixture into a tiii| lined l \)',|Jh,,gj:oase<l .paper, and hake in' a quick nvejj for about half an hour. .• half-cup 01 butter, one and a-lialf cups of flour, one teaspoonful of soda, and fouV tablespoons of sour milk, one teaspoonful of cinnamon, one-half teaspoonful of cloves, one-half teaspoonful of nutmeg, three eggs, reserving the wnite. of one for frosting; one cup of cooked planes cut, up fine. This cake is delicious, aii(l k,eep .moist for weeks, even in hot weatfier. WALXUT CAKE. Required: Five ounces of flour, ftfur ounces butter, four ounces sugar, four ounces grated wal■Jiut, grated ring of half a lemon, three '.jeggs, one tfaspcionfill- baking powder. iißftke in it "moderate.! oven. For icing: •Half a pound of icing sugar, two tablespoonfuls of cold water. Put in a pan, j.and waxm slightly.. .Stir in one ounce 'grated walnut, pour over the cake, and put a few picc,es of walnut on the top before the icing sets.
