EXCITEMENT IN PARIS, % Gable—Prw» Association—Copyright. Paris, May 1. The May Day demonstrations were barred from entering the Place de la Concorde, but assembled in the Champs Elysees. Cuirassiers charged the mob, and several arrests were made, including that of a man who fired a revolver. A policeman was stabbed in the back., ONLY MINOR DISTURBANCES IN PARIS. OVER-AWED BY THE TROOPS. Received 3. 12.25 a.m. Paris, May 2. The troops were not hidden, as formerly. Instead, they patrolled the streets in strong detachments and squares, and over-awed a hundred thousand workmen who were holiday-making. A number of minor disturbances occurred, and eighty-one arrests wjere made. Tirteen policemen, twenty-five soldiers and eighty civilians were injured.
