A GARRISON OF FOUR THOUSAND LOYALISTS. By cable.—Press Association.—Copyright Fez, May 1. There have been no further attacks,; as some of the principal beleaguering tribes are quarrelling. It is estimated that, including Major Bremond's men, there are 4000 loyalist troops in Fez. WARNINGS TO FRANCE. Berlin, May 1. The Norddeutschc Allgemeine Zeitung publishes an official warning to France of the consequences of any wrong action, anil hopes that events will enable France to keep to her programme and not to occupy Fez. The independence of tlie Sultan is an essential feature of the Act of Algceiras, and a breach of this Act would restore nil the Powers to freedom of action.
The Austrian Foreign Office litters a similar warning.
