INSURANCE AND INVALIDITY BuX. By Cable. —Press Association. —HnovrigJit London, May 1. In the llou.se of Commons, Mr. Asquitli, referring to complaints bv Liberals regarding the appointment of. a preponderance of Unionist magistrates in certain localities, stated that Lord LoreInirn, the Lord Chancellor, had written declaring that appointments belonged exclusively to his office, and added that so long as lie was Chancellor he would adhere to the views expressed before the Royal Commission. Mr. Asquitli considered that until the country had a better opportunity of judging the working of the advisory committees, it would be premature to give a day to discuss the question.
