Joseph Smith, one of the Mormon presidents, denies the existence of loose living and polygamy, and invites investigation at Utah. The Times shows that Smith was fined in 1900 for unlawful cohabitation, and alleges lie confessed to a committee of the American Senate that he had five wives.
