A PECULIAR BANKRUPTCY
COMMITTED Ft Hi TRIAL. . 1 By Telegraph.—Press Association. f Gisborne, Monday. William McMurray, on three charges of breaches of the provisions of the Bankruptcy Act, has been committed for trial. ] A FORMER NEW PLYMOUTH RESIDENT. "Gisborne, Last Night Til the McMurray bankruptcy case, the Deputy Official Assignee deposed that accused was arrested under the absconding clause of the Act. A considerable num- < ber of debts had been proved in the estate. Proof from Napier showed debts amounting to £192. There were also proofs from Nelson, showing debts of £SB, and those of Gisborne totalled £276, making a gross total of £527. Accused was trading in Napier under the"name of .Tames Murray; at Nelson as James Kane j and in Gisborne us William Mc- ' Murray. He was also at. New Plymouth. He told witness that he came to Gisborne with £SO that he won at the Auckland races. His only assets were ; stock valued at £3O, and cash in bank at « Hamilton £l7O.
