SLY GROG SELLING. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Oamaru, Monday. Margaret Andrews was fined £3O and costs for sly' grog selling. A number of licensed vendors outside the district were fined small amounts for technical breaches of the Act. ATTEMPTED SUICIDE. Auckland, Monday. John Milton, a resident of Onchunga, cut his throat four days ago and has since been found wandering about halfdemented. He' was admitted to the Auckland Hospital this morning. His condition is critical. NO-LICENSE'IN MASTERTON. Mastcrton, Monday. It was decided this morning to close the Club Hotel, which has been the principal commercial hotel in Masterton during the past thirty years. Mr. T. Porter, the lessee, states that lack of business during the past two years is the reason for closing.
