TECHNICAL COLLEGE.
MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The usual monthly meeting of the New Plymouth Technical College Advisory Committee was held in the Hchool last night. There were present; Messrs. F. P. Corkill (chairman), G. H. Dolbv, F. C. Bell ringer, W. Ambury, N. K. MacDiarmid, W. H. Griffiths, G. E. Blanchard and C. Carter. Mr. F. J. Hcatley (organiser) and Mr. J. Sullivan (secretary) were also present. On the motion of Mr. Bellringer, it was resolved that the time for the report to presented by the chairman and organiser re communication with the W.C.T.U. for forming domestic classes be extended. Monthly meetings will be held on the fourth Monday of the month, instead of the first as at present. A report was presented, much on the lines of the report dealt'with by the Education Board at last week's "meeting. The Board is to be requested to obtain the chemical apparatus as requisitioned by Mr. F. J. Ileatley. The caretaker is to be instructed to arrange with the teachers of respective classes re the reported untidy condition of class-rooms, etc. The_ question of appointing a ladies' committee to attend to the cookery, hygiene and domestic classes, as suggested in the supervisor's report, was held over. The action of the organiser in endeavoring to form a class in smithing was confirmed. The chairman, Messrs. MacDiarmid and F. C. Bellringer were appointed a committee to take into consideration the question of the resumption of the plumbing classes.
