NEW PLYMOUTH ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL CLUB. The annual meeting of the Ne\y Plymouth Association Football Club was held on Friday night at the club's rooms, Devon street. Present: Mr. J. Clark (in the chair), Messrs. E. A. Elliott, W. Hedley, W. Uoddard, N. MeComish, C. C. Coad, W. Arthur, C. W. Waldock, B. Gwillim, and several new members. REPORT AND BALANCE-SHEET. The annual report showed that the season had been a successful one, the club winning tiie championship of Taranaki and the J. H. Julian Cup for the season. The balance-sheet showed the club to be in a fair financial position, receipts exceeding the expenditure by 14s od. The assets of the club amounted to £39 ss. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The election of officers resulted as follows: —President, Dr. A. E. Walker; vice-presidents, Drs. Blackley, Fookea, and Milroy, Messrs. J. Bennett, W. Lints, and C. W. Waldock; hon. secretary, Mr. B. Gwillim; hon. treasurer, Mr. W. Hedley; club captain, Mr. J. Clark; management committee, chairman, secretary and captain ex efficio, and Mr. W. Goddard; delegates to Taranaki Football Association, Messrs. Elliott and Gwillim. It wag decided to enter one team for the cup matches. Arrangements are being made with the T.F.A. so that New Plymouth can play its home matches on Thursdays and travelling fixtures on Saturdays. It was resolved that a recommendation be'sent to the Taranaki Association that: "Taranaki challenge for the Brown Shield this season, players to pay their own expenses, and that the union be not held responsible for such expenses, but that all gate takings be equally divided amongst such players and manager and all over go to the union funds." The secretary was also instructed U> forward the following resolution to the New Zealand Football Association Council: "That we, the New Plymouth Association Football Club, appeal to the New Zealand Council to hold an inquiry into the Taranaki Association (Football Union's working." After several minor items were dis-
cussed,, the meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the chairman, and the press > for the way that "Soccer" had been helped along in New Plymouth and Taranaki generally by their lengthy reports and fair criticism. HIGH SCHOOL v. OLD BOYS. On Saturday High School met Old Boys, and had a somewhat easy win by 15 points to 3. For the winners tries were scored by Adlam, Mander, Grey, N. Little, and Bacon, whilst lan Grant scored the only try for the losers. None of them were converted. Mr. Ward gave satisfaction as referee. A number of players from the Star and Rover Clubs assembled on the Racecourse on Saturday, and indulged in practice. Prospects are very encouraging for the formation of a third Saturday club in New Plymouth. Despite the short notice, there was a fair muster at the meeting on Saturday night. A list of over twenty likely players was handed in, and considered satisfactory. It was decided to go ahead with the formation of the club, Mr. Mclsaacs hying appointed secretary pro tern. The meeting then adjourned until 8 p.m. on Thursday night, when a full «i«;ter of members is requested, as the eJj&tfao of officers and other details will take place that night. The Sole cup, presented by Mr. J. p. Sole for competition among local teams playing under the Saturday Association, will still be open for competition among all Saturday clubs. A practice match will probably be played at Waitara on Thursday next between Tukapa and Clifton.
