CONCILIATION COUNCIL
TRACTION ENGINE DRIVERS AND PREFERENCE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Mastcrton, Last Night. A sitting of the Conciliation Oouncil was held here to-day to take evidence in regard to the engine-drivers' dispute. The question at issue was whether preference to unionists should be granted to drivers of traction engines in country districts. After hearing evidence, it was decided to recommend that preference be not granted. The Council leaves tomorrow for Napier, where further evidence will be taken. (
