BIOfIKAPH PrCTTRES. The programme presented by the management at the Theatre Boval la«t evening was. as usual, full of vr-'ety and interest. Despite the unfavorable weather, there was a large audience, and each item met with hearty applause. The programme is strong in dramatic and comedy pictures, with three exceptionally attractive travel pictures. "Amongst the Eoses" is a beautifully colored novelty scenic picture, and for downright pi'ottiiiess easily eclipses any film that has been screened in the Theatre Royal, An educational picture equally interesting is a reproduction of a number of insects and small animals secured by Cherry Kearton during his camera ramblcs through South Africa, prominent, in this film being the mysterious chameleon. '•Adriatic Riviera" was one of the best scenic films. The Vitagraph Company is represented by two Hue studies, the first a powerful military drama, introducing a clever child actress, "By faith of a child," and an exquisitely prettily mounted comedy drama, "Daisies." Two A.B. Company pictures are included, a war drama, "The call to arms," and a highly amusing comedy, "Effecting a cure." "The House of the Seven Gables" is a dramatic story of olden days, and the working of a curse, a well produced story by the Edison Studio. The comics are above the average, and proved most popular with last night's audience. This programme will be repeated to-night.

M. EUGENE OSSIPOFF. As intimated last week, M. Eugene. OasipofT, the great Russian baritone, whose recent appearance in New Plymouth created quite a furore, is to give a Farewell performance in the Theatre Royal next Monday night. No male singer of equal power has previously favored New Plymouth with a visit, and it is not surprising that there has been a generally expressed desire to hear him once again ere he takes his departure for the Continent. In the main, a com pletely new programme will be contributed by Ossipoff and his company, although several numbers are to be reheard by request. Popular prices, 3s, 2s and Is have been fixed, and the box plan (no extra charge) is now open at Hoffmann's. On Tuesday night, the company is to have the honor of giving the first professional performance in the new "Municipal Theatre at Eltham.
