SUMMARY AND FORECAST. | • By Telegraph.—Press Association. , • Wellington, Last Night. The Meteorological Office has issued the following weather summary and forecast:—Fair weather has prevailed in East Coast districts, but showery in parts elsewhere, and a thunderstorm and heavy rain occurred on the West Coast of the South Island last night. The barometer has fallen considerably in the South, and northerly and westerly winds have increased generally. Present indications are for stormy weather and high northerly and westerly winds, strong to gale, southward of New Prymouth and Napier, veering to southerly in about sixteen hours. Rain is probable in most parts, and heavy in West Coast districts southward of New PlyMouth, with rivers rising. The barometer is likely to' fall, but rise everywhere after from 16 to 20 hours.
