THE WEATHER.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Meteorological Office issues the following weather summary and forecast:—The barometer has been unsteady in southernmost districts, but rose steadily last night elsewhere. Moderate and | variable winds have prevailed, with a predominance of' westerly .and northerly Heavy rain fell in the middle districts of the North Island last night, and showers were reported' in parts this morning, but the weather has improved generally today. Present indications are for increasing northerly and westerly winds, fair weather in northernmost and Eaßt .Coast fistrjete, but changeable elsewhere, with showers in parts-, especially in the far wrath and) West Coast of the South Island. A falling barometer is anticipated in the South, but little movement in northernmost districts.
