CENSUS RETURNS
FEILDING. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Fellding, Saturday. The census returns give the population of Feilding Wotigli as 5(163, an increase of 190 over the figures for 1006; Oroua i county 3582, a d'eci'estse' of 1.10. A largo residential portion of F«ildiflg is outside the borough. STRATFORD. Stratford, Safafday. The population of Stratford borough is 2G37, being an increase of 510 over the figures for 1000. SOUTH TABANAKL Hawera, Saturday. The census returns show the population of Hawera borough to bo 2084, against 2153, an increase of 531, and that of Eltluwn to be 1737, an increase of 408. The population of Manaia and Waverley town districts are 020 (471) and 540 (441) respectively. NEW PLYMOUTH. Mr. J. S. S. Medley, census enumera' 1 tor, has now made up the returns fori the New Plymouth borough and suburbs,! and also for the borough of Inglewood. The returns for the borough of Waitara and the various counties will be readv within a few days. ..... The suburbs show ft population of 2259, making a total for New Plymouth and suburbs of 749 J. Last census the suburbs were included in the Taranaki county return, but it was estimated that there were 1993 resi- [ dents in the suburban area, which gave a population of 7140 to New Plymouth at that dat?. During the five years therefore, the Greater New Plymouth population 1 has in'creased by 355, oi about equal to the natural increase for one year. _ The population' of. Tiiglewood borough is now 1274, as a'gam'stlls2 in 1906, a gain of 122.
