Gordon, a well-known novelist, as chairman of the Arbitration Board to settle the Western Canadian miners' strike. FIRE ON A WHARF. Paris. April 21. A fire seriously damaged goods landed at Dunkirk from the Clan Farquhar and other steamers. Received 22. 5.5 p.m. London, April 22. Renter's Dunkirk correspondent reports that 2000 hales of Australian wool were destroyed, the damage amounting to £40,000.
