Strenuous efforts are being made to save farmsteads, but the damage runs into thousands. BIG BEQUEST TO CHARITY. Received 21., 11.35 p.m. London, April 21. William Wolland, a draper at Knightsbridge, has bequeathed £20,000 to charities, including £IO,OOO to the Baptist fund, and £SOOO to Spurgcon's College.
