: SUMMARY AND FORECAST. ' By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night, - The Meteorological Office has issued the following summary and forecast:— The barometer has fallen everywhere, and is very low in the far north. Easterly winds have prevailed, and strong to gale in many parts, but decreased in the north to-day. Heavy Tain fell on the East Coast during the night, and gloomy and showery conditions'predomisalted. Present indicatbis are for rain and stormy weather generally, rivers rising over the North Island and on the East Coast of the South Island. The winds will probably veer to northerly in the far morth, and increase, and easterly wands strong to gale are probable elsewhere. The barometer will probably fall in most parts of the country, but rise smartly for a time in the northernmost districts soon. ■ "■■ -"' ■
