A CONTINENTAL CRIPPEN

FRENCHMAN ARRESTED FOR WIFE MLRDF.R. By Cable —Press Association—Copyright, Received 21, 12.30 a.m. Paris, April 20. Victor Gaubert has been arrested for the murder of his wife Eliza, in the village of Lappene, near Marseilles. The circumstances resemble the Crippen case. Eliza disappeared in October, her husband alleging she had gone to Mauritius. Later, he announced her death, and married Antonia Sidollos, a village girl. They left their home during repairs, and the workmen noticed that the tiles in the scullery were uneven, and discovered Eliza. Gaubert states that Eliza and he had a violent altercation over Antonia, and she suddenly dropped dead. Fearing arrest, he buried the body.
