A GISBORNE ASSAULT. ! By Telegraph.—Press Ass»ciation. Gisborne, Wednesday. To-day James Kerr Easton was remanded until Friday on a charge of manslaughter in connection with the death of James Blanche. Bail was allowed. CONVICTED OF ASSAULT. Hawera, Wednesday. John Hunter, a tent hand at a circus, was convicted this morning of assault, and imprisoned for seven days, without the option of a fine. The evidence showed that he went into a restaurant and, . without provocation, struck a man sitting at a table, and subsequently returned and repeated the assault.
