The offices of Scott and Martindale in the Stock Exchange Buildings were entered by burglars last night, and a sum of about £l5O in notes and gold, together with a number of cheques, was stolen. Polls were taken to-day on three borough loan proposals, viz., £36,000 for extension of the drainage in the new portion of the borough; £IO,OOO for new streets them: and £40,000 for municipal buildings. About 1000 voted. The two larger proposals were carried with few dissentients, and the third by about 201.
