♦ -- DR. MAWSOX'S EXPEDITION. By Cable—Press Association—Copyiight London, April 18. Dr. Charcot, the French explorer, has offered Dr. Mawson his vessel for £BOOO. Dr. Mawson suggests that the Government or philanthropists might seize the opportunity of presenting it to Australia, inasmuch as it is perfectly designed for Polar scientific exploration. The Prince of Monaco will present deepsea dredging apparatus. < Mr. Denman, Premier of Queensland, has promised a subscription.
