Napier, Last Night. The Waipukurau Jockey Club's annual race meeting was held to-day. There was a large attendance. The weather was showery. An accident happened in the first race, Ngakau and Lady Edna falling. The jockeys, P. O'Brien and J. Griffiths, were taken to the Waipukurau Hospital, but though both were severely bruised, it is not thought they have sustained serious injuries. The sum of £851.1 was put through the tote, as against £7022 last year. Results:— •Maiden Plate, seven furlongs—Elfbolt 1, Golden Clasp 2, Scots Fusilier 3.
